BOWMANVILLE, ON – John Greenfield of the Bowmanville Legion Branch #178 ~ Poppy Fund, presented Kirk Kemp, Chair of the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation’s We Care, We Can Campaign and the Foundation’s CEO, Frank Cerisano, with a cheque for $15,000.00. The funds were raised through the Branch’s annual Poppy Campaign and will be directed to the Foundation’s “Equipped for Care” Fundraiser, which will go to support the purchase of new vital signs monitors for Bowmanville Hospital.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Foundation has been closely following direction from Lakeridge Health and public health authorities to ensure our community’s health and safety is our top priority.
We are monitoring the situation carefully and have heightened best practices in the office as a precaution. BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO – On Thursday, January 30, 2020, Andrea Russell, Chief Development Officer, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, was on hand to receive a cheque for $8,154 from Leanne Travis – Associate & Pharmacist Owner, Longworth Avenue, Lisa Kemp – Bowmanville Mall and Catherine Lokietek – Highway #2. The funds were raised through the 2019 Growing Women’s Health Campaign that took place at local Shoppers Drug Marts this past fall. 100 percent of the funds will go directly to support the Mammography Department at Bowmanville Hospital and women’s health initiatives.
This campaign, held annually across Canada, offers customers the opportunity to purchase and personalize a Growing Women’s Health icon, which are prominently displayed on the Growing Women’s Health tree in all participating stores. By purchasing a “leaf” for a toonie, a “butterfly” for $5, an “apply” for $10 or a “blue bird” for $50 at the three Clarington and a Whitby store locations, shoppers were able to support the Bowmanville Hospital.
BOWMANVILLE, – On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, Chris Kooy, Board Chair, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, was pleased to accept a generous gift of $20,000 from the members of Florence Nightingale Lodge #66 and the Beehive Rebekah Lodge #125 – Bowmanville. This gift will go to support the redevelopment and expansion project for Bowmanville Hospital and help to enrich the level of care the Hospital provides to patients.
Florence Nightingale Lodge #66 and the Beehive Rebekah Lodge #125 – Bowmanville have been dedicated supporters of the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation for decades. We are grateful that the organizations’ members have chosen the Foundation to be one of their charities of choice.

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, members of the Knights of Columbus Council #6361 presented Andrea Russell, Chief Development Officer, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, with a cheque for $5,000. The funds were raised through the Knights of Columbus’ 2019 TV Bingo and will be directed to the “Breath of Life” Fundraiser for the purchase of new ventilators for Bowmanville Hospital.
As one of the Knights of Columbus Council #6361’s largest fundraising contributors, TV Bingo Nights take place on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. on Rogers TV.
The Bowmanville Hospital Foundation has been one of Council #6361’s charities of choice for many years, supporting many of the Foundations initiatives, including the Tee Off Fore Health Golf Tournaments and annual fundraising Galas.
